RMIT celebrates World Week 2005
RMIT University will celebrate the cultural diversity of its student population at a variety of events staged throughout World Week 2005.
Live music, traditional dancing, and a night market selling food and accessories from around the world will feature at the festival, which aims to promote cultural awareness and tolerance while celebrating RMIT’s commitment to internationalisation.
RMIT has one of the largest cohorts of international students in Australia, with international students making up 25 per cent of the student population. The university offers programs to 57,000 students from more than 100 countries who study at its campuses in Victoria, Vietnam, 25 partner institutions around the world, and online via distance education.
RMIT University Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Gardner will officially launch the World Week 2005 at the opening ceremony at RMIT’s City Campus on 1 August at 6pm.
Members of the public are invited to join in World Week 2005, including:
What: RMIT World Week 2005 Opening Ceremony
When: Monday 1 August, 5pm – 6.45pm
Where: RMIT City Campus, Bowen Street, Melbourne
What: Night Market
When: Monday 1 August, 6.45pm – 10pm
Where: RMIT City Campus, Bowen Street, Melbourne
What: Cultural Night
When: Tuesday 2 August, 7pm – 10pm
Where: RMIT Storey Hall, 344 Swanston Street, Melbourne
