澳大利亚留学网消息，近来由于澳洲留学进一步升温，移民政策新一轮的调整，部分比较畅销的专业日益遭到追捧，出现严重供小于求的现象，同时为了平衡各专业课程的健康发展，进一步提升大学的国际竞争力，澳大利亚的商科名校MONASH大学商学院毅然通过决议，把部分硕士商科课程的雅思入学要求做了下列调整：

1. 要求雅思到7.0，单项不低于6.5；

2. 新政策从8月10日开始执行，已经提交申请的并且获得full offer的申请人，可以不受本次改动的影响；

3. 主要受影响课程包括，会计硕士，应用金融硕士，银行金融硕士，MBA和MBA相关的双硕士、风险管理硕士；

4. 其他的国际商务、外交贸易、商业法、人力资源管理、市场营销、税法、应用计量学、工作场所和劳资关系等硕士则不受影响，雅思6.5就可以入学。

澳大利亚留学网第一时间和MONASH大学取得了联系，根据大学有关老师的解释，调整入学要求最主要是报名该大学王牌专业会计金融等专业的人数太多，所以大学有本钱提高要求而不至于失去太多生源，同时最关键的是整体提升了生源质量，同时提升大学的国际竞争力。

当然，对于广大学生来说，这也许并不是好消息，因为门槛高了，花费的语言费用多，时间耗费更久了。据传特别是很可能墨尔本大学，悉尼大学等大学可能要跟进。

关于具体政策的实施，比如语言直升班问题，作为为数不多MONASH大学官方代理之一的澳大利亚留学网已经和大学联络，获得了更多信息！

1. 雅思6.5, 但是写作高于6.5的申请人，只要上10周语言直升班就可以满足要求
- Applicants with an IELTS overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in writing, will be eligible for entry to the 10-week ELBP and will be deemed to have met the English language entry requirements for the above courses upon successful completion of the ELBP.
2. 雅思6.0, 写作不低于6.0的申请人，上满15周语言直升班就可以被认为满足要求，
- Applicants with an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing, will be eligible for the 15-week ELBP and will be deemed to have met the English language entry requirements for the above courses upon successful completion of the ELBP.

New IELTS requirements for 2008

The following Monash GSB programs will now require an overall IELTS of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5. These programs previously had an IELTS requirement of 6.5  with no individual band score less than 6.0.

These changes are effective Friday 10 August 2007, and will affect all new applications for semester 1, 2008 onwards. Applications already submitted with an IELTS of 6.5 will be honoured.

Dear Monash Representative,

As you may be aware, the English language entry requirements for some
courses in the Graduate School of Business at Monash University have
changed for 2008. The following courses will now have an entry
requirement of IELTS 7.0, with no individual band score less than 6.5
(equivalent TOEFL requirements are attached):

Master of Business Administration (and all double degree courses with
the MBA)
Master of Business (Accounting)
Master of Business (Banking and Finance)
Master of Professional Accounting (Stream A and B)
Master of Applied Finance (Stream A and B)
Master of Risk Management
Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Business Law

I am writing to inform you of interim measures for the English Language
Bridging Program (ELBP) in 2007, articulating with the Semester 1, 2008
intake. The following measures apply only to the above courses and ELBP
entry requirements for all other courses remain unchanged:
- Applicants with an IELTS overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5
in writing, will be eligible for entry to the 10-week ELBP and will be
deemed to have met the English language entry requirements for the above
courses upon successful completion of the ELBP.
- Applicants with an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 6.0
in writing, will be eligible for the 15-week ELBP and will be deemed to
have met the English language entry requirements for the above courses
upon successful completion of the ELBP.

**Please note that offers made before August 9, 2007 remain valid and
are in no way affected by the changes described above.*

Monash University English Language Centre will work with the Graduate
School of Business to develop ongoing arrangements for ELBP courses in
2008 and we will notify you as soon as practical. Currently, the
academic performance of ELBP students in the above courses is at the
same level as all other Monash students and we see this as an
opportunity to improve even further the academic outcomes for students
who choose an ELBP course.

It is important to note that the following courses are not affected by
the changes to English language requirements and the existing English
language entrance requirements will apply in 2008 (IELTS 6.5 with no
band less than 6.0 – and equivalent):

Master of International Business
Master of Marketing (all streams)
Master of Business Law
Master of Taxation
Master of Applied Econometrics
Master of Diplomacy and Trade
Master of Human Resource Management
Master of Workplace and Industrial Relations
Master of Public Policy and Management
